Chop Suey was started 9 years ago by Jacqueline Starmans, co-founder of Citydwellers.
Sustainability, social interaction and collaboration are the core points of our entrepreneurship.
Chop Suey products and projects are designed for those with awareness of the well being of people and the environment.
The return to a simpler way of life and the re-use of materials and ecologically friendly innovations is a world-wide current trend
Chop Suey follows the movements of consumers, entrepreneurs and creative professionals who want to make a difference in 21st Century Lifestyle.
Chop Suey projects bridge the gap between designers and craftsmen, between interns and professionals.
Elements of communication play an important role, finding a balance between individualism and communal sense.
Cross overs, cultural aspects and knowledge of the origin of sources provide the story behind our products and projects.
As co-founder of Citydwellers and collaborator in Citydwellers projects, the motto “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” is a recurring aspect in the Chop Suey projects.
We do our best to incorporate the 3R's in all business related actions we take; from setting up the store to the production line and products. We are well-aware of the importance of responsible decisions concerning environment and society, both for present and future generations. We try to implement more sustainable practices in our sourcing and our manufacturing processes. Trying to get better, to design our products nicer, to produce them in better quality, and to get our staff enhance their skills. In 2017 Anahita Haghparast joined our team. With a masters in sustainable architecture, Anahita has joined us voluntarily as sustainable development consultant. She carries out a sustainability report in compliance with the GRI G4 guideline for our organization. As her first step Anahita has designed a 'sustainability label' for items we sell, to give the background information to our customers short and sweet.
